May is the Month of the Woman at BayCare

BayCare invites you to participate in the Month of the Woman, an annual series of programs in May that focus on women’s health and wellness. Join our women’s health experts for seminars, screenings and roundtable panels, all tailored specifically to women.

With hospitals dedicated specifically to women and children, we meet the unique health care needs of women including surgical, gynecological, breast, cancer, advanced obstetrics and more. All our women’s programs and services share the same goal – patient-focused, compassionate and comprehensive women’s health care, provided in beautiful, healing environments.

Mother and Daughter Saturday at Sea
This three-hour Mother and Daughter luncheon and conference takes place aboard a Yacht Starship cruise that departs from Channelside in downtown Tampa. Expert speakers will teach mothers and daughters how to navigate the waters of safe, yet fun, social networking. Plus, there are breakout sessions for moms only and girls only to help answer questions about the physical and emotional changes of the teen years. Restorative Yoga for Cancer Patients
Yoga incorporates stress reduction techniques such as regulated breathing, visual imagery, meditation and various stretching postures to help improve strength, flexibility and balance. Look Good Feel Better
Look Good Feel Better is a free program that teaches beauty techniques to women in active cancer treatment to help with the treatment's appearance-related side effects. Free cosmetic kits are provided for each participant according to their specific skin tone. Information on wigs and scarves also will be provided. Postpartum Support Group
This group, led by a hospital social worker with experience working with pregnant and postpartum moms, provides a supportive environment and offers the opportunity to talk, share and support other women who are challenged by everyday stressors, adjusting to new roles and experiencing emotional changes. This group is open to all prenatal and postpartum women who have delivered up to one year ago and are experiencing perinatal depression or mood disorders associated with pregnancy and birth.
