Panera Bread Donates $25,000 to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital’s Heart Center|
Panera customers opened their hearts during a special Valentine cookie campaign.
On Wednesday, April 11, 2012, Panera Bread presented a $25,000 check to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, proceeds from their first ever Valentine cookie campaign. From Feb. 1-14, 2012, 100 percent of every Valentine cookie sold in 26 stores throughout the Tampa Bay area was designated for pediatric heart care at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.
“We are grateful to be chosen as the recipient of such heartfelt generosity from Panera Bread and its customers,” said Kimberly Guy, chief operating officer of St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. “As a regional referral center for pediatric heart surgery and the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, these funds will make a difference in the lives of critically ill children in the Tampa Bay area and beyond.”
The $25,000 donation also includes charitable contributions made into Panera Bread’s Operation Dough-Nation Community Breadboxes during the entire month of January and February, with a portion of the funds being matched by Covelli Family Limited Partnership, a Franchisee of Panera.
“We are overjoyed with the outcome of our first Valentine cookie campaign” said Vikki Kaiser, director of marketing and public relations for Panera Bread. “Our customers truly opened their hearts to help. Together, we were able to come together and make a difference for the children being treated at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital’s Heart Center.”
