St. Joseph's Children's Advocacy Center is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of children.
As one of St. Joseph's Children's Hospital of Tampa's Centers of Excellence and with the generous support of the community, we are able to offer educational classes in our local schools and outreach in our community.
Community Event Volunteer:
Volunteer will assist St. Joseph's Child Advocates during community events. Each volunteer will be trained to run interactive health and safety games and lessons. The community volunteer will be able to provide information on St. Joseph's Children's Advocacy programs within the hospital, schools and community. Volunteers must have transportation to and from community events and must be willing to work some weekends and some evening hours.
Community Event Volunteers will have an opportunity to educate children and adults about the importance of preventing injuries related to: water, fire, poisonings, pedestrians, bicyclists, vehicle passengers, guns, sports and environmental hazards to health.
Community Event Volunteers will provide safety products and resources to encourage families to childproof their homes, ensure that children are appropriately immunized and will provide assistance in helping families establish a medical home and health care program.
