Sharon Durrett, DMD
Dr. Durrett advises and coordinates orthodontic care with dental specialists for children of the St. Joseph's Children's Hospital of Tampa Children's Craniofacial Center. She provides orthodontic care for children and adults in her Tampa office, located in the Citrus Park area.
Dr. Durrett was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area. She attended The University of Florida in Gainesville for a total of 12 years working toward multiple degrees and certifications. After four years of undergraduate studies, she received a BS degree in Microbiology and Cell Science, with a minor in Chemistry. She then attended the College of Dentistry for four years, earning a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree followed by completion of a one-year Orthodontic Research Fellowship. In May 2004, Dr. Durrett completed a three-year Orthodontic Residency to become certified in Orthodontics. During her residency, she also earned a Master of Science degree for her research on the use of attachments during treatment with Invisalign®, which she received training to become certified for treating patients with Invisalign®.
Dr. Durrett is board-eligible for the American Board of Orthodontics. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Florida Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast District Dental Association and Hillsborough County Dental Association.
