Adults who experience urgent, but non-life threatening illness or injury can receive treatment at St. Joseph's Hospital's First Care facility. Located adjacent to the Emergency Department, First Care offers convenient, efficient medical treatment for minor emergencies. Hours of operation are from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.

The center is staffed by a physician, registered nurses, medical assistants and registration clerks who provide the same high level of care the community expects from St. Joseph's Hospital. The center also has a radiology suite to X-ray possible fractures. If patients seeking treatment at First Care require a higher level of care than can be provided, they will be transferred to the main hospital Emergency Department.
