Robotic General Surgeons

Stephen Butler, MD (General)
Stephen Butler, MD, specializes in general and vascular surgery, with a special interest in laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Butler is a consultant surgeon for Ethicon Endosurgery and a faculty member of Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Dr. Butler is board certified and is affiliated with South Florida Baptist Hospital. He served as president of the hospital medical staff and served on every major medical staff committee.

Dr. Butler received his MD from University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in Kansas City, MO. He completed his residency at St. Luke’s Hospital and completed an endoscopy fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.

Angel Docobo, MD, FACS (General)
Dr. Angel J. Docobo is Board Certified in General Surgery. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida College of Medicine (USF) in Tampa.  He completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at USF affiliated hospitals, where he served as Chief Resident in General Surgery and Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery.

Dr. Docobo has previously served as Director of Trauma Services at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  His clinical interests include parathyroid, breast, and biliary tract surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  Dr. Docobo is fluent in Spanish.

David F. Echevarria, MD(General)
David F. Echevarria, MD, specializes in advanced laparoscopic surgery, bariatric surgery, general surgery and surgical oncology. Dr. Echevarria has extensive experience with bariatric surgery for morbid obesity and is a member of the American College of Bariatric Surgeons as well as the American College of General Surgeons. Dr. Echevarria performs gastric bypass and adjustable gastric band procedures. He enjoys performing bariatric surgery because the surgeries are an effective and life-changing tool for his patients.

Dr. Echevarria received his BS from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. He received his MD from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, FL. After graduating medical school, Dr. Echevarria returned to Tampa to complete a five-year surgical training program at Tampa General Hospital, The Veterans Administration and the Moffitt Cancer Center.

Clinton R. Hall, MD (General)
C. R. Hall, MD, specializes in general, bariatric and robotic-assisted surgery. Dr. Hall is a member of the American College of Surgeons and a candidate member of the Society of the American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. His clinical interests include laparoscopic bariatric surgery, laparoscopic complex abdominal hernia repair and using the da Vinci® Surgical System for anti-reflux procedures. Dr. Hall is affiliated with South Florida Baptist Hospital.

Dr. Hall received his BS from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, KY., and his MD from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, FL. Dr. Hall completed his residency as chief administrative resident at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, OH. He then joined the staff of Ohio State as an assistant professor of surgery. Dr. Hall completed a fellowship in minimally invasive, bariatric surgery and robotic-assisted surgery.

Quan D. Tran, MD, FACS (General)
Quan D. Tran, MD is Board Certified in General Surgery.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, graduating magna cum laude, from Florida State University in Tallahassee.  He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, and completed his General Surgery Residency at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He was awarded a Peacock Gross Anatomy Teaching Fellowship and membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Tran has also served as the Chairman of Surgery for an Alabama medical center.  He has experience in General, Thoracic, and Trauma Surgery, Advanced Laparoscopy, and Upper and Lower Endoscopy.  He provides a complete range of general surgical services and has a special interest in advanced minimally invasive surgery and single site surgery (scarless surgery).  He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  Dr. Tran is fluent in Vietnamese.
