Clinical Trials

CryoCath - CryoTherapy uses a cryo balloon for the treatment of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. St. Joseph's Hospital is one of ten centers involved in this clinical trial which is currently in Phase III (pre-market release).

Atritech - The WATCHMAN System   - This study is to evaluate the efficacy of the WATCHMAN as an alternative to the use of coumadin for the prevention of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. St. Joseph's Hospital was one of two centers in the state of Florida to participate in this trial which has recently completed Phase II and has an anticipated market release in 2009.

Magellan Clinical Trial - BARD High Density Mesh Ablation System (HDMA)  - This study will evaluate the efficacy of the HDMA for treatment of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. St. Joseph's Hospital is participating in this clinical trial which is a Phase II trial and is for patients who have previously failed at least one anti-arrhythmic drug.
