Connie received her BSN from the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa , AL) and her masters degree as a Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Florida (Tampa , FL).

She has spent most of her career in caring for cardiac patients. The first 6 years of her career she provided direct patient care in the cardiac intensive care unit.  After receiving her masters degree and moving to New York City , she managed the clinical needs of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery for St. Vincent's Hospital. Upon returning to the Tampa Bay area she joined St. Joseph-s Hospital Heart Institute and helped open the first local Women-s Healthy Heart program in February 2004.

Connie has always had a strong interest and passion for the prevention and treatment of cardiac disease. Along with Dr. Irwin, Dr. Lazzara and Dr. Mathew she shares an enthusiasm for the treatment of atrial fibrillation.

Connie will take the time to determine if you meet the criteria for a surgical or a catheter-based approach to treat atrial fibrillation.
