Certification Required: CERT MA Preferred: Phlebotomy Education Required: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: AA Experience Required: One year clinical experience Preferred: On year Pediatrics Specific Skills Required: Medical terminology use and understanding Interpersonal communication skills Technical skill competencies Basic computer skills Organizational skills Description: The Medical Assistant II will perform various front office functions such as Registration filing and organizing patient medical records, insurance verification and authorizations, answering phones and other general office duties of the Children's Diabetes and Nutrition Center and physician subspecialties. Acts in a supporting role to provide basic patient care assistance to the subspecialty physicians. Responsibilities also include greeting patients and ensuring efficient triaging, recording and documenting vital signs, patient weight and basic medical history.
