We recognize the need for patients and families to educate themselves about their health and specific conditions, and e have cancer educational brochures located throughout the Cancer Institue. We also a Resource Libray complete with videos, books, audio tapes, online access, and other materials related to patient education and emotional support.
Our patient rooms are equipped with closed circuit TV, where patients and family members can watch educational videos any time during their stay. The closed circuit TV videos provide further information on the St. Joseph's Cancer Institute, tests and procedures, illness and disease, and other health-related topics.
St. Joseph's Cancer Institute also provides a variety of support classes for patients and families. And in an effort to make sure all of your questions are answered, our nurses, physicians, and staff strive to provide excellent bedside education.
Cancer HelpLine is staffed by a nationally certified oncology nurse, and provides patients and their family members answers to their questions about cancer, treatment, support services, along with referrals to physicians community services.
