For women who need to be hospitalized during their pregnancy, prenatal massage is available. A physician order will be obtained for this service. During your prenatal massage, you will be comfortably supported with pillows or special body support cushions.

Whether vaginal birth or cesarean, massage will speed recovery and help to restore your body to its pre-pregnancy condition. Our specially designed postnatal massage chair allows you to sit comfortably within 24 hours of delivery to receive massage therapy on your back, neck, arms and hands. Immediately, postnatal massage removes stress from the muscles that have built up during labor. By releasing stress, the bonding between mother and baby is facilitated.

Massage therapy can help you handle the physical demands of caring for a newborn by reducing tension and increasing energy. Massage therapy can speed healing of hemorrhoids or an episiotomy by increasing circulation. If you are nursing, a relaxing massage can help, since tension interferes with mild letdown. Massage can nurture and comfort you whether or not you are experiencing baby “blues.”
