Cruising to a Cure

Cruising to a Cure

The second annual "Cruising for a Cure" was held on Sunday, November 9, aboard the Holland America Cruise Ship ms Veendam.  The event, chaired by Primrose Demirdjian and Marianne Setteducato, was a wonderful success, raising $25,000 for pediatric cancer research conducted by St. Joseph's Children's Hospital and Dr. Cameron Tebbi.

This year's theme, Tampa Bay's Top Chef, was a huge hit. Guests were were treated to a culinary feast provided by Chefs James Maita from Grille One Sixteen, Keil Lombardo from Roy's Hawaii Fusion and newly crowned "Tampa Bay's Top Chef Chef " Richard Bottini from Six Tables-Tampa.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Children's Cancer Research Group (CCRG), which helps fund childhood cancer research at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. St. Joseph's Children's Hospital is the only community hospital in Florida, and one of a very few non-university hospitals in the United States, with a research laboratory dedicated exclusively to pediatric cancer research.
