Judy Martin joined the Foundation in 1995 as a development associate and
three years later was named the first full-time executive director. During
her tenure, the Foundation has raised more than $6 million in support of South
Florida Baptist Hospital. She has spearheaded several major building
campaigns, including the Pete Beaty Surgery Center, Jim and Ruby Jean Redman
Emergency Center and St. Joseph's Children's at South Florida Baptist Hospital
pediatric unit. In addition, Judy has initiated numerous Foundation
special events, such as Lights for Love, Fall Fancy, Diamonds &
Denim and the new "Ladies Night Out" health education series.
As the
daughter of a career Army officer, Judy grew up all over the world and attended
some 16 different schools before graduating from Florida State University.
She moved to Plant City in 1963 and enjoyed a 32-year career in marketing and
community relations with Tampa Electric Company before retiring.
Judy has
been active in Plant City civic and community affairs for more than 40 years and
was honored in 1995 as Plant City's Outstanding Citizen of the Year. She
is a past president of the Junior Woman's Club, Pilot Club, Arts Council and
Woman's Club, and continues to be involved with the Greater Plant City Chamber
of Commerce, where she has served in many capacities over the years, including
the board of directors.
Sandra Richie
Sandra Richie is the
Foundation department secretary. Born in Sarasota, Sandra moved with her Florida
native parents back to their hometown, Plant City as a small child. She
grew up and attended school in Plant City.
She brings to the Foundation many years of public relations by working in retail management, catering and marketing. Prior to joining the Foundation Sandra was an Assistant Manager with a local supermarket chain for twelve years throughout Hillsborough County, including Tampa, Brandon, Fish Hawk, Plant City and Riverview. Before that she was Director of Sales & Catering in the hospitality industry throughout Plant City, Tampa, Lakeland, and Kentucky.
Sandra is the very proud of mother of two wonderful daughters. Shannon and Jennifer are also graduates of Plant City High School. Shannon is an honors graduate of the University of South Florida with a major in Studio Art and a minor in Art History. Jennifer is in Corporate Benefit Planning and Cosmetology.
Outside work, Sandra is busy continuing her education, spending time with family and friends and enjoying all life brings. She is certified in scuba diving, loves music, reading, sewing, football, and traveling. She has traveled throughout the Caribbean, Spain and Egypt where she also experienced scuba diving in the Red Sea.
Sandra loves her hometown and greatly enjoys the many friends who work with her and the many dedicated supporters of the Foundation.
